    Essentials every Rower should have:

Be prepared for any kind of weather at a regatta, whether it’s in the fall or spring!

    Team Members:

    1. Uniform (black spandex shorts and Team tank or team unisuit)
    2. Sweatshirt or jacket
    3. Extra changes of clothes (think layers)
    4. Several extra pairs of socks (several rowers forgot extra socks in Des Moines please remind them to bring extra socks – good deals on smart wool type socks at Costco this season)
    5. Plastic bag for wet clothing – Large Zip Locks
    6. Hat / sunglasses
    7. Water bottle
    8. Sunscreen
      1. Athletic tape for blisters (waterproof kind – I have seen it at Wal-Mart)
      2. Money for Breakfast Friday and Dinner Saturday night after the race    when we are on the road (I would suggest approx. $20.00)

    11.  Money for regatta t-shirt

    12.  Towel (in case you fall in or in the event there is a shower at the course and you can shower after racing)

    13.  Flip flops/sandals/appropriate shoes for water launches (easy on easy off and cheap in case they get lost write your name on them – Old Navy has flip flops for $3-5.00)

    14. Sleeping bags and ground pads were also very popular in Des Moines and your rower may bring these items packed in a duffle or in a garbage bag marked with their name, (a thick yoga mat makes a great ground pad).

    15. Medications

     Spectators:

    1. Reading material or homework (there is plenty of waiting time

    between races)

    1. Chair or blanket to sit/lie on
    2. Binoculars
    3. Camera
    4. Warm clothes for layering
    5. Umbrella/rain gear
    6. Hat/sunglasses
    7. Cell phone so you can send updates if you want
    8. Money for regatta t-shirts

    10.  Throat lozenges – we do a lot of cheering.
